Modified: Heat - Start: 3rd Finish: 3rd B-Main - Start: 2nd Finish: 1st A-Main - Start: 12th Finish: 3rd

The first time to this track and it was a dusty one. Track was a 1/4 mile and the first time with the new Skyrocket suspension. Had to qualify through the B-Main as just fell short of qualifying top 12. Started 13th in main and finished a strong 3rd to Kelly Shryock and local Chad Kinder.

Modified: Heat - Start: 5th Finish: DNF A-Main - Start: DNS Finish: DNS

The season opener at Southern Iowa Speedway was not a night to remember. The modified dropped a cylinder in the heat and therefore, pulled from the racing the rest of the night after making about 1 1/2 laps. Time to get it to the shop and hopefully get it ready for USMTS racing at Bloomfield. The stock car did not make an appearance to the track, but hopefully it will show up at a later date. The plans for the stock car this year are to race Southern Iowa Speedway on a limited basis, but definitely run the specials.

Modified: Heat - Start: 8th Finish: 4th B-Main - Start: 1st Finish: 3rd A-Main - Start: 17th Finish: DNF

Had to qualify from the B-Main and in the feature the modified suddenly did not want to run and had to drop out. At that time, the problem was thought to be the carb. Hopefully, Memphis will be a better run.

Modified: Heat - Start: 9th Finish: DNF B-Main - Start: 12th Finish: DNF A-Main - Start: 23rd Finish: 5th

What started out an evening of tension and frustration, ended on a pretty good finish. What was thought to be a carb problem, to a fuel pump, to a fuel line, to replacing all the lines, ended with a simple fuel filter. The modified quit in the heat and the trouble started again. Seemed like no matter what the guys tried nothing worked. Went out in the heat as a DNF. Went out for a few laps with the stock car heats and still nothing. Brad just made the B-Main but still would not run. Could get a provisional in the feature IF it would just run. Finally chased down everything possible (and that filter) and tried again with the stock car feature. Finally, it ran! Started at the rear in the feature and got up to 3rd place when the tires just gave out after racing so hard. Settled in for a 5th place finish and ended up 4th in the Central Regional points standings. For such a bad start, not a bad finish at all. Also received Hard Charger for the effort.
