Results May 2007

Modified: Heat - Start: 6th Finish: 4th A-Main - Start: 7th Finish: 1st

After a rain out, we are back on the track for weekly racing at the Southern Iowa Speedway. The night was filled with a couple nasty roll overs in the modified heat and the stock car feature. The modified looked good all night and Brad did very well in the feature to take over the lead. Allison Quick took the lead at the start and looked to stay out in front of the guys for about 6 laps before Ron Ver Beek took over. Brad caught Ron and the race between them got exciting. Brad took the lead at lap 8, exchanged it a couple laps later back to Ron and then took over the lead for the rest of the race. Good job!

Modified: Heat - Start: 5th Finish: 4th A-Main - Start: 10th Finish: DNF (10th)
Stock Car: Heat - Start: 3rd Finish: 1st A-Main - Start: 5th Finish: 4th

The stock car made it's way to the track for the first time in 2007 and didn't do too badly. The track was not the best as it was loose and had crumbs on the outside. The stock car got stuck in traffic but finally broke out and got close to the front runners at the end to make it a more exciting race. The modified didn't fair as well on the crumbs as that was about the only place to run and try to pass. On one lap running down low the modified hooked a tire and spun bringing out a yellow (to the rear). It ran fast and quickly got to 3rd again when the loose stuff and turns 3/4 won out and the mod got loose. In turn 1, got bumped by another modified and cut a tire down. Brad was out for the night.

Brad will not be racing next week at Oskaloosa as he is being sent out of the state for the week by Vermeer. Hopefully this is the only conflict with the schedule this summer.

After a week of not racing due to being out of state on business, Brad made it back to the track at Oskaloosa. Due to all that time out of town, this time he only took the modified and gave the stock car a rest. Don't worry, stock car fans, there are specials coming up soon!

The track tonight seemed to be a lot better shape, even with the 3 rain delays. Brad started the feature in the 2nd position and took the lead in the first lap or so. But Stuart in the 17S put up a good battle for a while. Then it was on to cruise to the win. (Win #162).
