Stock Car: Heat - Start: 1st Finish: 2nd A-Main - Start: 1st Finish: 1st

The modified didn't look too bad. Had to start 2nd in the B-Main as just missed qualifying. Looked good in the B-Main and on the way to qualifying for the main when the engine gave out big time. That pretty well puts the modified on the side lines until a motor can be built again. Krohn did an impressive win with Shyrock on his tail for 2nd again.

The stock car faired better than the modified. Looked strong in the heat although Bert McDaniel looked pretty good too. The stock car took the lead on the 3rd lap and went on to the win with McDaniel 2nd.

USMTS Vs. NASCAR - Well, at least one NASCAR person. Ken Schrader made it to the track, but because of the rain out on Sunday at the NASCAR track, the other 2 (Kenny Wallace & Clint Bowyer) could not make it. A lot of modifieds showed up anyway. Brad looked good in the heat and not so darn bad in the feature. Held his own position (although Shryock snuck by for 2nd from the 6th position). Dripps passed Brad for 3rd. Mahlstedt won from the 2nd position and Ken Schrader looked good moving up from 16th to 3rd until motor problems. We will race the NASCAR guys again in August.

The modified is out of racing for a while, but the stock car is busy with the the Stock Car Challenge. 39 stock cars showed up for the 2 day race event. The car looked excellent and strong (driver too) all night and took the lead with Schmitt running close behind, but could never get the pass in. Not a bad showing for a stock car that is going on 12 years old.

Stock Car: Previously qualified for A Main A-Main - Start: Not sure of the redraw but not as good a start Finish: 23rd DNF

Well, the stock car started out pretty good in the feature and looked pretty good to finish a good position. Was in a big chase for Schmitt who was in the lead along with Hovey in a close second. All three ran 1,2,3 until the 17P hit the wall and took down a tire. After that Hovey passed Schmitt and on the last lap, chaos broke lose as Schmitt touched Hovey and they both went around with cars braking and dodging everywhere. Lance Deal got through on shear luck and no need to brake for the much debated and talked about win.

No modified yet but decided to race the stock car especially since it ProLine night and the money from our winnings and Zack's was to go to Jace in New Sharon - the 8 year old boy whose cancer has returned. The stock car feature was a good race between Bert McDaniel and Brad. Bert had lead the race for 15 laps before losing the lead to Brad. Good Race! Also had the Preacher Feature race, but our preacher could not get in Brad's seat and buckled up, so was a scratch. Can't blame him. I can hardly fit in the seat myself!
